Slow down and reflect with family

Slow down and reflect with family

Greetings WiCoM members! Blessed Samhain. I hope you all had a great year. As Fall rolls on, and Winter draws near, we feel its breath beginning to chill our skin. We ignite our furnaces, the hearth fires of today, and keep our kin warm. We pull in our final harvest and begin hunkering down for the cold months to come.  Where traditionally this was a time of silence and a time  to reflect, in today’s world we don’t stop. We don’t slow down and take that time to rest. We don’t have the long months of seclusion with our families. I encourage you to take time to slow down. Talk with family. Your spouse or SO, your children, your brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, anyone related to you. Bury hatchets and remember your roots. Connect. Live. Life is too short for bullshit. Be happy my people. -The Green Man...

What’s In Your Harvest?

What’s In Your Harvest?

They would argue that even with bread machines, the mixes are pre done with older ingredients. Here’s how I see it, it is symbolic. Sure, it would be great to be able to walk out to the field and get things fresh, but that’s just not how it works any more, at least for most of us. It’s about...

Greetings from the Green Man

Greetings from the Green Man

All acts of field and forest are my ritual…   Greetings WiCoM members!  The gods have seen it fit to select me as Greenman this year.  I am honored to once again be serving with Adamina as our May Queen.  Yes, this is the second time we have been paired by the gods at Beltane.  We were gifted with Iron Stag as our fool.  Just to mix it up, Adamina chose John as her Handmaiden and I chose Wind Daughter as my Summoner.  I think it’s going to be a great year! Midsummer is upon us.  The fields are planted, the fruit trees are in bloom, and as I walk through my yard and the parks, everywhere life thrives.  We are so blessed to be connected to the world.  To the plants, the earth, the animals, every living thing around us shares a connection.  In our rush through life, we sometimes forget this.  I encourage you take a moment to connect with the...

Greetings from your Green Man

Greetings from your Green Man

Hello everyone, I am the Green Man again, by the will of the Gods. I did not expect to even stand for the position. That said from the moment, I agreed to stand, the Green Man ( the God) let me know I would be selected. So I serve at his will and pleasure and shall endeavor to contribute to the Church in honor of that preferment. So GREETINGS from your Green Man. It is my job to serve the office as his servant and yours for the next year. I have discussed the plans with our May Queen Annie, and we hope to make an active and interesting year. We are tentatively planning activities beyond the eight Sabbats which may include meals, events, classes and social events for the Church to have a life beyond the Sabbats. Both Annie and I stand ready to be available to our members for to consult or support you in manners which we are able. It...
