WHEN:
Saturday, March 20, 2010
Gather at 7:00 p.m. / Ritual at 7:30 p.m.

The Wiccan Church of Minnesota cordially invites you to share in its Ostara Ritual.

This year’s Ostara is hosted by Eye of the Boar coven.  This will be their first public Ritual ever!  We will be working with Eos
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eos) and Ares (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ares).

Now ... we know what you’re thinking: Eos and Ares?  Are they crazy?  Well, yes we are, but this works.  Trust us … Come and see.

Gather at 7:00 P.M. start at 7:30 P.M.

Why 30 minutes later than usual? If you have to ask, then you aren’t checking your astrological calendars.  Moon is Void of Course until 7:28 P.M.

So … Bring yourself and a dish to share for the feast.

It is open to the public so tell your friends.

We hope to see you there.

Access to Ritual

Many Wiccans choose to practice their spirituality as solitary practitioners, others seek a group ritual experience. Not all who desire group ritual experience are members of a coven or other group to fulfill that need. WiCoM tries to meet the needs of these members by sponsoring group celebrations of the eight sabbats.

Self Governance

WiCoM is governed by an Executive Board made up of an Elders' Representative, a Teachers' Representative and a General Representative, who are advised by our May Queen, Green Man and Fool, and assisted by the Treasurer and Secretary. The operations of the Church are overseen by four Trustees, and the books are periodically independently audited. We are required by our bylaws to convene a minimum of four meetings, or "moots," each year to formally conduct the Church's business. All moots are open to the public and public participation is welcome. Dues-paid members of at least Voting Membership level may vote at the General Moot. Church-recognized Elders and Teachers have voting rights at their respective moots. Moots are scheduled consecutively: General, Teachers, Elders, and Executive.

The next round of moots is currently scheduled for:
Sunday, April 11, 2010, Noon to as late as 2:00 p.m.

Public Awareness

In the past WiCoM has co-sponsored various informational meetings with different groups for the purpose of community education and hospitality. Examples of such groups include the Minneapolis and St. Paul police departments (community education) and sponsoring a suite at the Minicon science fiction convention (hospitality). At these and other events, WiCoM is dedicated to the portrayal of Wicca as a life-affirming spiritual path.

Community

Many members of WiCoM are also members of other Wiccan and pagan organizations, both locally and nationally. Our newsletter, "Call of the WitchTower", is sent as a part of an information exchange to organizations in Minneapolis and to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
