Notes about the October 15, 2017 Meeting
Ever wonder what it takes to run a church? Well, here’s your chance to find out. This is our “nuts-and-bolts” meeting. You know, the ones where the bills come up to be paid and the officers get elected and stuff like that.
HEY! Officers Elections! We’ve got those.
Positions to Fill — We’ve got those, too!
Among the other topics for discusson at this meeting will be the need for the following elected and appointed positions (and other appointed offices, if there’s volunteers for them:
ELECTIVE OFFICES. All elective officers must also be at least a dues-paid VOTING Member of the Church. Teachers’ Rep must also be a recognized Teacher and dues-paid at that level.
Appointed officers must be a dues-paid Associate Member and be capable of performing the duties of the office.
>>General Representative: A one-year term.<<
The General Rep is generally considered the first-contact for non-sensitive church related business. There is no “term limits” except that a member of th May Team may not also be an elected officer.
>>Teachers Representative: A two-year term<<
The Teachers’ Rep oversees the sponsorship of new individuals seeking recognition as a Teacher within the Church, and coodinates the communications among those Teachers. The Teachers’ Rep does NOT wield authority or responsibility for the conduct of other Member-Teachers.
The following appointed positions are vacant, and currently being “filled in” by volunteers.
The Treasurer is responsible for the management of the assets of the Church (i.e. paying the bills, etc) under the direction of the Elective Board. This includes co-managing the membership lists in conjunction with the Secretary.
The Webcrafter is responsible for the maintenance and management of the Church’s public-facing internet presence. They work in cooperation with and at the direction of the Executive Board.
THERE’S MORE to each of these positions and the details are available in our Membership Handbook:
